Dr. Jamil Ahmad is the Director of Research and Education at the Plastic Surgery Clinic in Mississauga. He is a specialist in plastic surgery certified by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas followed by a breast reconstruction fellowship at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Ahmad is an assistant professor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto and the Director of the Resident Aesthetic Clinic. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Aesthetic Society, the Rhinoplasty Society, and the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is a Past Chair of the Section on Plastic Surgery of the Ontario Medical Association. Dr. Ahmad is the Program Chair for the annual Aesthetic Meeting of the Aesthetic Society and has served as an Aesthetic Society Traveling Professor.

He has authored over 130 scientific articles and chapters and is the co-author of the following textbooks: Dallas Rhinoplasty: Nasal Surgery by the Masters, 3rd Ed; Secondary Rhinoplasty by the Global Masters; and the Dallas Rhinoplasty and Dallas Cosmetic Surgery Dissection Guide. He is a Clinical Editor for Aesthetic Surgery Journal and the My Way Section Editor for Aesthetic Surgery Journal Open Forum.

Dr. Ryan Austin joined the team of surgeons at The Plastic Surgery Clinic in 2017. Dr. Austin was born and raised in Toronto and completed his BSc with a sub-specialization in Life Sciences at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. He subsequently attained his MD degree from the University of Toronto and went on to complete his residency training in the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto. Dr. Austin completed a clinical fellowship at The Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center / Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

As an active contributor to plastic and aesthetic surgery research, Dr. Austin has published textbook chapters as well as numerous scientific articles in some of the most highly regarded peer reviewed plastic surgery journals. He has presented scientific lectures at both national and international meetings across North America. In 2015, Dr. Austin was selected to serve on the Editorial Board of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal as a Next Generation Editors, and he will be assuming the Lead role of the Next Generation Editors starting in 2020.

Dr. Austin previously served as Vice-Chair, and is currently the Chair of the Section on Plastic Surgery for the Ontario Medical Association. Since 2018, Dr. Austin has served as the Director (Interim) of the Hand Surgery Fellowship at the University of Toronto, and he serves as Organizer of Journal Clubs for the University of Toronto Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Austin is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and holds memberships in numerous medical and scientific organizations, including the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is a candidate for membership with the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the American Association of Hand Surgery.

Dr. Scott K. M. Barr is a Royal College certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Sudbury who has performed thousands of aesthetic surgical procedures of the face, breast, body and scalp. With a vast patient base of over 60,000 from Ontario and other parts of Canada, he is well known for his meticulous attention to each detail of the surgical aesthetic experience.
Dr. Barr’s practice is entirely focused on generating exceptional outcomes in aesthetic surgery of the face, breast, and body.

His appreciation for the artistry involved in blending symmetry, balance and the unique characteristics of each individual enables him to create natural, beautiful outcomes for his patients. Dr. Barr is founder of Barr Plastic Surgery at the Northern Ontario Surgical Centre, an advanced CAAASF and CPSO accredited surgical facility and the largest private surgical facility in Northern Ontario. Over the years, Dr. Barr has built the reputation of being a compassionate surgeon who pays meticulous attention to detail in the care and safety of his patients. He is well known for his complete devotion to achieving the best possible aesthetic outcome and the complete satisfaction of each patient.

Dr. Barr is a past assistant professor with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and is a past chairman of the Sudbury General Hospital Laser Committee. He was the former Head of the Division of Plastic Surgery as well as the former Chief of the Department of Surgical Subspecialties. He sat on the Cosmetic Surgery Advisory Committee and the OHP (Out-of-Hospital Premises) Committee with the College of Physicians and Surgeons and is a past member of the Ethics Committee with Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is currently the President of the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Forrest is a Professor in the Department of Surgery and started his full-time appointment as Medical Director of the HSC Centre for Craniofacial Care and Research in January 1999. Dr. Forrest completed his medical training and his surgical residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto followed by fellowships in Adult and Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre (Toronto) and the Children’s Hospital of Michigan (Detroit, MI) in addition to a fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery in Santa Ana, California.

He is a graduate of the Surgeon Scientist Training Program through the Institute of Medical Sciences, University of Toronto. He commenced his university appointment at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in 1993 and moved to the Hospital for Sick Children as the Medical Director of the Craniofacial Program in 1999.

He succeeded Dr. Ronald Zuker in the position of Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery in January 2003. He has a cross-appointment in the Institute of Medical Sciences, University of Toronto. He is a surgeon-investigator and has performed basic science research with a focus studying the biology of radiation-induced craniofacial bone growth inhibition with CIHR funding. His current research focusses on the development of high-fidelity surgical simulator models and the application of robotics in craniofacial surgery in addition to patient-reported outcomes measures.

He has an appointment as Project Investigator in the Research Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children. He is considered an expert in the area of craniomaxillofacial and cleft disorders. Dr. Forrest has over 100 peer-reviewed publications, 27 book chapters, 111 published abstracts, 84 invited presentations, 169 peer-review presentations and cumulative total of $1.76M in research grants as Principal Investigator since 1992.

Dr. Forrest was a recipient of the Medical Research Council Scholarship from 1992 to 1997. He is a past Chairman of the Plastic Surgery Research Council and hosted the 50th annual Plastic Surgery Research Council meeting at the University of Toronto in 2005. He has been the Chair of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto since 2011.

Dr. Frank Lista is the Medical Director and founder of The Plastic Surgery Clinic. He is a board certified specialist in plastic surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and one of only a few Canadian plastic surgeons to be board certified in the United States as a diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Lista completed his plastic surgery residency and fellowship at the University of Toronto. He has been in practice for over 30 years. Dr. Lista is on active staff at Trillium Health Partners and was Chief of Plastic Surgery at Trillium Health Centre for over 10 years. As a world-renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Lista has innovated many new surgical procedures. He is internationally recognized as an authority in aesthetic plastic surgery and is frequently invited to present his research and techniques at conferences around the world.

Dr. Lista regularly lectures at conferences held by the four major plastic surgery professional societies in North America: the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (CSAPS), and the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS).

And he has travelled around the world to provide lectures to other plastic surgeons, most recently visiting Mexico, Brazil, England, France, Italy, Turkey, India, Australia, South Africa, Peru and the United States. Dr. Lista has been invited as a visiting professor to some of the world’s most prestigious universities, including Yale University, the University of North Carolina, Loyola University, the University of California Irvine, and the University of California San Diego. He has also served in the esteemed position of Travelling Professor for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
